The T-Shirts are Here!

Finally, the t-shirts are here!

Last week Matsiko John Bosco received the final Uganda Empowers logo from Angel Nelson, American Friend to Uganda Empowers. He sent the logo to a local printing business and the t-shirts were printed within a week. We ordered 40 red t-shirts for the children and 6 off-white t-shirts for the counselors and adult members of Uganda Empowers.

The t-shirts will be used as uniforms for all performances and traveling events. Also the uniforms will be used as a way to protect the children when they have to travel in groups by themselves. Often while traveling, children are targeted by criminals, especially girls. If the children travel in larger groups with uniforms, the criminals are less likely to offend because they will know the children are associated with Uganda Empowers.

The day the t-shirts arrived, we had a ceremony for the recipients of the t-shirts. Juliet of Kaaka’s Children, a sponsor of Uganda Empowers, awarded the shirts to the members of Uganda Empowers.
