Fighting the Stigma of HIV and AIDS in Uganda for Baby Morgan
Baby Morgan, only 9 days old, has already fallen victim to the stigma of HIV and AIDS. His mother committed suicide after finding out that she had HIV. Matsiko Johnbosco went to Masaka to visit Morgan and his family so that he could offer some assistance but the family was in a complete state of shock, asking themselves:
How could Morgan’s mother be gone? How will we deal with this?
Who will take care of Morgan? Does Morgan have HIV?
These are the tough questions that many of our brothers and sisters are asking themselves because of HIV and AIDS. While living with HIV and/or AIDS is tough, it does not mean that you cannot continue to live. If we cannot erase HIV and AIDS from our community, we can erase the stigma that is attached to it.
